Adjusting building regulations to today's state of technology

During its ten days in Klagenfurt the WOODBOX was part of the Klagenfurter Holzmesse fair and was the reason for many a dialogue between politicians and interested citizens on forward thinking timber construction.

proHolz Austria chairman Hans Michael Offner calls for a new legal framework. In the last 50 years very much has happened in the field of wood and timber research, which led to the development of new products. The Carinthian building regulations, however, have not been adjusted to the new situation yet. Herbert Gaggl, member of the Provincial Parliament of Carinthia called for the adjustment of the building regulations according to today's state of technology and referred to the economic value of wood as an Austrian resource to increase the regional added value.
